Upward Bound tutors sought


The Upward Bound program is seeking students to provide tutoring for high school students.  Subject areas consist of, but are not limited to, mathematics (algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and so on), literature, social science, science (such as chemistry and physics), technology, college applications and essays, and preparation for standardized test (MCA’s, ACT’s, Accuplacer).  Generalists are also needed.  Tutoring is provided weekdays at Washington Technology Magnet school from 1:30–5 p.m. Some weekend hours may be available.

Upward Bound is one of the TRiO federally-funded programs through the U.S. Department of Education. Upward Bound works with students attending or planning to attend Washington Technology Magnet in Saint Paul. Metropolitan State University’s program serves approximately 50 high school students from grades 9-12 including a college bridge program.
