Craig Morris is joining Metropolitan State University as the new affirmative action director on April 15. As director, Morris will provide leadership, both internally and externally, regarding affirmative action and diversity through harassment and discrimination investigations, training and cultural programming, data collection and reporting, and promotion of university wide discussion of diversity and inclusion.
Morris is a recognized leader in higher education, business and public service with more than 20 years of experience in a broad array of system wide and campus administrative roles. Along with his experience, he brings understanding of diversity issues and the complexity surrounding them to the university.
Morris holds an MS in management organizational effectiveness from Stritch University and a BS in public administration/business from the University of St. Thomas.
Julie Jones, interim affirmative action director, is stepping down after serving the Equal Opportunity and Diversity office for the past six months.
