The submission deadline for the National Poetry Month Haiku Contest is midnight on Tuesday, April 14.
The contest is sponsored by the Metropolitan State Library and includes prizes for the winning poems. Submissions can be sent to email@example.com or dropped in the entry boxes on the first and second floor of the Library and Learning Center, 645 East Seventh Street, Saint Paul.
Two haiku are accepted per entrant. Entries must include original haiku, name and email of entrant. Full contest rules are available online here. Employees of Metropolitan State University and MnSCU are not eligible to win prizes.
Winners are decided by blind judging by Metropolitan State faculty. Winners will be notified April 17 and announced publicly April 20. Entrants who do not wish to have their haiku shared with attribution via the library’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, WordPress) must include an explicit statement to this effect in contest entry. Refusal to permit social media sharing will in no way effect the judging process.
