Metropolitan State celebrates spring commencement

Metropolitan State University celebrates its 96th commencement exercises Monday,
May 4. The student speaker is Stephen A. Lenius, Golden Valley, College of Individualized Studies outstanding student, who focused his degree plan on cultural leadership through writing and design.

The ceremony is in the Roy Wilkins Auditorium at Saint Paul RiverCentre. Approximately 986 students are receiving bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees with 700 expected to participate in the spring ceremony. All guests must have a ticket.

Other commencement participants include: Metropolitan State Interim President
Devinder Malhotra; Ginny Arthur, provost and academic vice president; John “Jay” Cowles, trustee, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees; Allen Bellas, Inter-faculty Organization president; Ploua Yang, Student Senate secretary; Timothy Doherty, Metropolitan State University Alumni Association board president; Craig Vinje, Metropolitan State University Foundation board trustee; and Dan Bostrom, Saint Paul City Council member.
