Stay Restless: A Community Gathering on the Voting Rights Act 50 Years Later

vra logo colorThis August marks the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. While there is much to celebrate, Americans still face many barriers to voting.

Join Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and community leaders from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6 at the Harrison Neighborhood Association, 503 Irving Avenue North, #100, Minneapolis for an evening of learning, storytelling and performance art.

The event includes an intergenerational panel discussion on voting rights, performances on injustices in the voting system, a performance from The Theater of Public Policy improvisational group and an opportunity to become involved with dozens of nonprofit, faith, business and community partners.
