Saby Labor, women’s and LGBTQ student services coordinator and retention specialist, leaves Metropolitan State after three years to complete her doctor of education degree at St. Cloud State and to accept a graduate assistanceship in their center for doctoral studies. She will continue her role as community faculty at Metropolitan State.
Among many accomplishments, Labor established the first women’s and LGBTQ student resource center, led the Student Affairs pillar “Fostering Diversity and Inclusion” for two years, raised $2,500 for the GLBT and allies scholarship, facilitated the first campus trans* ally training and co-chaired the spring 2015 welcome day event. Labor also worked to reinvigorate Lavender Bridge, a student organization with the mission of providing a safe, accepting environment for Metropolitan State students.
