Metropolitan State University celebrates its 97th commencement exercises Tuesday, Dec. 15. Approximately 1,194 students are receiving bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees with 667 expected to participate in the fall ceremony.
The ceremony is in the Roy Wilkins Auditorium at Saint Paul RiverCentre. All guests must have a ticket. The student speaker is Heidi Anderson-Ferdinand, Fridley, College of Arts and Sciences outstanding student, history major.
Other commencement participants include: Metropolitan State Interim President Devinder Malhotra; Ginny Arthur, provost and academic vice president; Michael Vekich, chair, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees; Nancy Johnson Black, Inter-faculty Organization representative; Mai Blia Pha, Student Senate public relations director; Ochen Kaylan, Metropolitan State University Alumni Association board president; and Dan Bostrom, Saint Paul City Council member.
