Help out student parents this holiday season

gift program copyThe Student Parent Center (SPC) thanks those who have chosen to support our students with children this holiday season with holiday gifts and food. Due to the sacrifices these students are making in order to gain an education, many of them would be very hard pressed or even completely unable to provide gifts to make their children’s holidays memorable.

There are still some families and children who have not yet been adopted. There are several ways to help if you are unable to adopt a whole family or accommodate a child’s wish list:

  1. Donate gift cards in any amount. The most desired are for places like Target where students can buy both gifts and food for the holidays.
  2. Donate checks made out to the Metropolitan State University Foundation with “Holiday Giving Program” on the memo line.
  3. The SPC can provide a list of individual items that are needed from wish lists.
  4. Donate your Kohl’s Cash for the SPC to buy gifts for free at Kohl’s.

If you’d like to sponsor a student parent family this holiday or contribute in one of the ways listed above, contact the Student Parent Center at student.parentcenter@metrostate.edu or 651-793-1564.
