The Big Read kick off

Last Thursday launched the Big Read featuring Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. More than 100 students, faculty and community members attended the event, which included the opening of the Gordon Parks Gallery’s Guiding Lights exhibit, an artist’s panel discussion moderated by Seitu Jones and the keynote address: Hurston as High Priestess: Their Eyes and the Hieroglyphs of African American Culture presented by John S. Wright, PhD.
