The university community is invited to a farewell reception for Emily Sladky, coordinator, Pathways Program. The reception is 11 a.m.–1 p.m., March 24, Career Center, Room 110, Founders Hall, Saint Paul Campus.
Since joining Metropolitan State University in October 2010, Sladky provided exemplary leadership in managing the Pathways Program and Travelers EDGE Scholarship Program. Both are externally funded by an annually renewable grant that began in 2007. She significantly revamped these programs and created a D2L course with ten modules about personal, professional and career development. She also helped produce a workshop series and other key events put on by the Career Services office, as well as bringing the Handshake tool to Metro.
Together with Jill Sondergaard, Sladky worked to coordinate employer relationships through various panels, mock interviews, resume reviews and site visits to companies such as Travelers, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Wells Fargo and Spire Credit Union. She was also an active member of the University Scholarship Committee.
Emily has accepted a position at Augsburg College as assistant director of their Career and Internship Services Office in the Strommen Center for Meaningful Work. Her last day at Metropolitan State is March 25.
