Metropolitan State sociology professor Monte Bute speaks with City Pages about the historic 1972 anti-war demonstration in Minneapolis.

“You had to be there at the time. People considered themselves a movement,” Bute tells City Pages. “It was a time that poverty, injustice, domestic issues particularly in neighborhoods really were at the fore. You saw yourself as part of this massive effort to transform America.”
