Metropolitan State students harvest over 1,800 pounds of apples from the  Sunrise River Farm Apple Orchard in Wyoming, Minn.

The apples will be donated to local food centers in the Twin Cities and Hudson, Wis., areas. Some of the fruit will be baked into pies and distributed to low-income families in Dayton’s Bluff.

If you would like to participate in the pie baking event, contact Dr. August Hoffman at august.hoffman@metrostate.edu. Students also helped raise $600 by selling foods at the apple harvest and this money will be donated to the 1st Lutheran Church to help sponsor Wellness Meals.
