Los Angeles-based band Las Cafeteras performed at Metropolitan State, as part of the Ordway Center for Performing Arts World Music and Dance Series. The performance took place March 23, in the Fine Arts Studio.
The self-described “immigrant children” of Las Cafeteras remix roots music and tell modern day stories with what the LA Times calls a “uniquely Angeleno mishmash of punk, hip-hop, beat music, cumbia and rock.”
The show was hosted by the Program in Experimental Music and Intermedia Arts, School of Communications, Writing, and the Arts.
