Throw down with Metropolitan State to watch the Scrabble for Scholarships tournament organized by the Annual Fund Drive Committee, to support scholarships awarded through the University Foundation.
The preliminary round begins at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Saint Paul Campus, Saint John’s Hall L5.
Winners of the first round will play each other in the final round, immediately following. Proceeds go to the Metropolitan State Annual Fund Drive for Student Scholarships.

Metropolitan State University Foundation scholarships are supported by gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations who wish to provide financial assistance to our students. The deadline for students to apply is quickly approaching!
For students looking to obtain financial help, apply for scholarships through the Metropolitan State University Foundation. The application period for the 2017–2018 academic year is now open. Deadline is noon, April 14.
Last year, 144 students were awarded more than $240,000 in scholarships.

Students may submit scholarship applications at any of the four Gateway Student Services locations. Students may also mail completed applications to Metropolitan State University, Attn: Gateway Student Services, 700 E 7th Street, St. Paul, MN 55106. Emailed applications can be sent to email@example.com and must be from your Metropolitan State email account for personal identification and security with “Scholarship Application” denoted in the subject line. Students United (formerly MSUSA), is offering five scholarships that most Metropolitan State students are eligible for.
Students United is an independent, non-profit organization established in 1967, which is funded and operated by students.
The scholarships offered are:
• Barbara J. Penny Community Service Scholarship
• Timothy J. Penny Public Service Fellowship
• Elizabeth Pegues Scholarship Matching Program for Students of Color Friends Scholarship
• Hull Educational Foundation
• Jared P. Stene Student Leadership Scholarship

The Metropolitan State University Foundation has been approved for a 2:1 challenge grant in the amount of $100,000 from the Katherine B. Andersen Fund for the university’s Metro Complete Scholarship Program. This means the Foundation receives the grant by raising $200,000 over a period of four years.
The challenge begins July 1, at which point any funds raised for the Metro Complete Scholarship Program will be applied to this grant challenge. To learn more or make a contribution, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
